Who are you, what you do and who you serve?

Rae + Dot Studio, co-owned and operated by two best friends, Lexi + Robyn.

What services do you offer? 

We design and produce your wedding/event stationery + signage. All those small, yet impactful details that help to elevate and personalize your wedding.

How did you get started in the wedding industry, and what inspired you to start a stationery business?

In 2019, we designed all the stationery for Robyn’s wedding. We both have degrees in design, love graphic design and fonts, and just stationery in general, so the progression into creating Rae + Dot came together quite naturally. Haven’t stopped since!

What do you enjoy most about working in the wedding industry and serving couples on their special day?

Seeing the vision be brought from mood board to reality. We eagerly wait for instagram posts to see how everything came together on the big day!

What do you believe is the most important consideration when couples are choosing a stationer?

Couples should consider choosing a stationer whose design style aligns with what you are looking for, however, it is not a deal breaker if you don’t see exactly what you’re envisioning in our portfolio. We love hearing the vision you/your wedding planner have for your big day, and then interpreting that into your stationery/signage. Good stationery design has the ability to tie everything together and be that cherry on top of all your event decor!

What is the ideal timeline for couples to book your services in advance of their wedding day?

Ideally, we like to hear from you and get you booked in with us about 12-18 months before your wedding day, especially if you are wanting custom invitations. We’d also like to know when you are hoping to mail out your invitations by.

What is the best piece of advice you would offer to couples planning their wedding?

Trust your vendors. Trust their recommendations and skill sets, because they want the absolute best for you and your wedding too! We find our best work comes about when the couples describe to us the look and feel of their wedding, but give us creative freedom to design!

Can you share your favorite wedding trend or design idea that you're currently excited about?

Pops of red. Bows. Whimsical hand-sketched looking fonts. Personalized notes as place cards. Statement bars. Asymmetrical florals.

How do you stand out?

We both have architectural design backgrounds and really developed our graphic design style from that schooling, and our minimal yet modern style reflects that. Our frequent use of white space, strong margins, and right or left aligned text are a few key design principles that make us unique in the wedding industry. We also aren’t afraid of colour and playful shapes!
