As wedding planners, we always strive to bring our clients' dreams to life, and Julia and Justin's wedding was no exception. From the moment we met this lovely couple, their vision of a whimsical, colourful wedding was clear. With The Gates on Roblin as the chosen venue and a vibrant design palette, we were excited to make their special day unforgettable.
Planning a wedding in May always comes with the possibility of unpredictable weather. Despite our hopes for sunshine, the Winnipeg weather had other plans. But thanks to our meticulous planning and a solid rain backup, the day went off without a hitch.
For the first look and photos, we moved to the stunning Red River College Exchange District Campus. The beautiful architecture and indoor spaces provided a perfect backdrop, ensuring that Julia and Justin's first moments together were captured in style.
When it came time for the ceremony, the rain continued, so we seamlessly transitioned to our indoor backup plan at The Gates on Roblin. We transformed the reception area by moving the head table, setting up a gorgeous floral arch, and arranging the chairs on the dance floor. The result was a breathtaking indoor garden scene that felt intimate and magical.
The wedding design was a feast for the eyes. Tables alternated between two stunning centerpiece styles: some adorned with bud vases filled with vibrant blooms and blush pillar candles, and others showcasing colourful floral arrangements with elegant blue taper candles. The mix of colours and textures created a whimsical and enchanting atmosphere.
The place settings were equally impressive. Each setting featured an heirloom white charger plate, a blue water goblet, gold cutlery, and a unique semi-circle menu card paired with a round place card. The attention to detail was evident, and guests were delighted by the thoughtful and beautiful design elements.
As the evening progressed, the dance floor came alive with joy and celebration. One of the night's highlights was the traditional hora dance, which brought everyone together in a lively and joyous circle. The energy and happiness were palpable, creating memories that Julia and Justin, along with their guests, will cherish forever.
A wedding is a team effort, and we are incredibly grateful to the amazing vendors who helped make Julia and Justin's day so special. From the florists to the caterers, photographers, and venue staff, everyone played a crucial role in bringing this whimsical wedding to life.
